Home Depot Donates to Hurricane Communities
ATLANTA, Nov. 1 /CNW/ -- The Home Depot(R), the world's largest home improvement retailer, today continued the second phase of its hurricane response by announcing an additional $3.25 million donation to individuals and communities affected by the 2005 hurricane season. Home Depot Breaks Ground in Pell City
PELL CITY — Officials broke ground Thursday on a huge commercial center development, where a Home Depot will be located.
"Hello, Pell City," Hunter Stansbury with Home Depot said at Thursday’s groundbreaking ceremony. "I just want to tell you how excited we are."
Stansbury credited city and county officials, as well as developers, for putting the construction of a Home Depot store in Pell City on the fast track.

Furnace Explodes at Apartment Complex
A fire at the Maple Tree Village apartments in Charlotte has left some residents homeless. The Charlotte Fire Department continues to investigate the cause of the fire that they spent most of the day battling.
Sandra Davis ran out of her apartment moments after the explosion and says she couldn't believe her eyes. Sandra Davis, witnessed fire: "My neighbor told me there was an explosion, and the flames were just swooshing out and moving down the building."

Police carted off 21 truckloads of home improvement items from three houses Friday after uncovering what they think may be a large Kansas City burglary ring.
